In an old interview, Rakhi had told that she was not even allowed to go out to play with other children, but when she talked about earning money, she was not stopped. Rakhi started earning through small jobs at the age of only 10. The actress told that she worked as a waitress in the wedding of business tycoon Anil Ambani and Tina Munim, through which she used to get Rs 50 per day.

Beginning with ‘Agnichakra’

He left his home to come out of the chawls of Mumbai and enter the Bollywood industry. However, even here things were very difficult for him. He had to face casting couch many times in the beginning. Finally, in the year 1997, Rakhi got her first film ‘Agnichakra’, during this film Rakhi changed her name from Neeru to Ruhi. Later she took the name Rakhi, Sawant being her stepfather’s title, which she added to her name.
