E-ambulance service in Safdarjung Hospital
Continuous work is being done for the interests of the patients in Safdarjung Hospital, the largest government hospital of the Central Government. The hospital administration is making various efforts to provide better facilities to the patients. In this sequence, a new initiative has been taken towards promoting green healthcare in the hospital premises. E-ambulance service has been started in the hospital under CSIR. Which will be used for the movement of patients within the hospital premises.
This initiative is considered to be in line with the vision of green mobility and sustainable healthcare infrastructure. The hospital administration says that this will provide fast, safe and environment-friendly transport facility to the patients. This e-ambulance service has been started by Dr. Kavita Sharma, Director of the hospital. He said that a large number of patients come to the hospital every day. In such a situation, initiatives to strengthen patient support services are always important. This ambulance, received by DFY India under CSIR, will help in making the movement of patients in the hospital premises easy and environment friendly. This service has been started in the interest of patients.

Dr. Kavita Sharma said that this e-ambulance will prove especially helpful for those patients who face difficulty in reaching from one department to another in the hospital premises. This will provide relief to the elderly, serious patients and people with difficulty in walking. This ambulance will have stretchers, oxygen cylinders and all other necessary items. This service will be free in the hospital premises. If it works well then efforts will be made to increase its number in the coming days.
Will help in reducing pollution
This e-ambulance will not run on petrol or diesel. In the future, such green healthcare initiatives can play an important role in improving patient services in hospitals as well as reducing pollution.
Safdarjung Hospital is the largest centrally administered government hospital in the country. Every day thousands of patients come here from OPD to other departments. Referred patients from all over the country also come to this hospital. There is also the country’s largest burn department here.
