According to DFO Gyan Singh of Bijnor Forest Department, Bijnor district is surrounded by forests on three sides. Due to abundant forest area, wild wildlife come to the villages and start living in the sugarcane fields.

Wild animals get sufficient food and water in the sugarcane fields, due to which the animals set up permanent camp here. The female Guldar gives birth to three to five children twice a year. That is why their numbers increase rapidly. According to Forest Department data, more than five hundred Guldars are living in the fields of Bijnor.
In Bijnor, the Forest Department has declared 100 villages as Guldar dominated areas. Cages have also been installed at 110 places to catch the henchmen. Hundred of henchmen have already been trapped in them. Which have been released in the zoos of Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Delhi as well as in the forests. The Forest Department has also deployed a special task force for patrolling in Guldar dominated villages. Along with this, advisories are also being issued to the villagers.
