The City District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force, acting on a tip-off, has arrested seven high-profile drug smugglers, including two women, by conducting a high-speed checking operation. During this entire operation, 308 grams of deadly synthetic drug ‘MDMA’, worth lakhs of rupees in the international market, has been recovered. But the most surprising thing was the secret place where a woman had hidden the drugs to dodge the police.
That checkpoint at midnight: Car coming from Palakkad resort and intelligence input
This major anti-drugs operation started from Vaniyampara area of Thrissur. The Anti-Narcotics Force had received a confirmed intelligence input that a huge consignment of drugs was headed towards Thrissur city from a luxury resort in Palakkad. Without wasting any time, the officials blocked Vaniyampara Highway and started intensive checking of suspicious vehicles. Meanwhile, the police signaled a speeding Swift car coming from Palakkad to stop. As soon as the car stopped, winds started blowing on the faces of the four people traveling in it. When the police searched the car, initially nothing was found. But the intelligence input was very solid.
Police lost their sweat in the search: When deadly material was found from private parts
As the suspicion deepened, when the women police officers included in the team conducted a strict physical search of the two girls traveling in the car, they were stunned. A clever woman traveling in a car had hidden two grams of synthetic drug ‘MDMA’ inside her private parts to avoid the eyes of the police. As soon as the matter of hiding the drugs in this horrific manner came to light, the police immediately took all the four accused in the car into custody. They have been identified as Shifas (26), Vidya (28), Jishnu (27) and Srilakshmi (20), all residents of Guruvayur-Pavaratti area.

The police considered this recovery of only two grams to be the tip of a bigger racket and increased the pace of investigation. When the four detained accused were psychologically interrogated in separate rooms, they broke down. On his tip, the anti-narcotics team conducted a major and secret raid at the house of main accused Shifas late in the night. After searching every corner of the house, the police made another breakthrough, from where 18 grams more of the deadly crystal MDMA was recovered. Now the police had a total of 20 grams of drugs, but this was just the beginning of this dirty game.
The truth about Chavakkad’s ‘Aluminium Workshop’: Treasure was hidden among the debris and tools.
After scanning the mobile phones of the arrested smugglers, the cyber cell found some very suspicious chats, coded messages and strong evidence of financial transactions. With the help of these digital clues, the investigators reached an aluminum fabrication workshop located in Pancharamukku area of Chavakkad. This workshop, which looked very normal from outside, was actually the main secret hideout of this entire drugs network. When the police started searching inside the workshop, a cover hidden among the junk and heavy tools was recovered. On opening this cover, three packets were found inside it, which were filled with 288 grams of pure MDMA. From this hideout, the police arrested three more key operatives operating the drugs network – Shabbir (34), Anshad (31) and T.T. Sumesh (25) was caught.
The biggest strike in recent months: Now the search for the kingpin
A total of 308 grams of MDMA has been seized in the entire operation from Vaniyampara to Chavakkad, making it one of the largest and historic seizures of narcotics in Thrissur district in recent months. According to senior Thrissur Police officials, this network was targeting youth and college students of Kerala. The names of many other white-collared people have also emerged from the phone records of smugglers. The police are now preparing to conduct raids in the neighboring states to find out the main mastermind (kingpin) of this entire racket and the main source of these synthetic drugs.
