Anvay Dravid in India Mens U19 squads: The Junior Cricket Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s Under-19 team for the tour of Sri Lanka. The biggest and interesting news related to this team selection is that Anvay Dravid, younger son of former Indian captain and great batsman Rahul Dravid, has been included in the Indian team for the first time. 17 year old Anvay Dravid will now be seen playing in Indian jersey like his father.

This Sri Lanka tour of the Indian team will start from July 4 in Hambantota, where the team has to play three ODI matches and two multi-day matches. Anvay has got a place in the 15-member ODI team as a wicketkeeper. Anvay Dravid has consistently shown excellent performance in the age group tournaments of domestic cricket, due to which he attracted the attention of the selectors. At the same time, Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh has been appointed the captain of the team. Apart from these, Lakshya Raichandani has been made his vice-captain.

Anvay Dravid made a lot of headlines while captaining the Karnataka Under-19 team in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. He took his team to the quarter finals. During this period, playing the role of anchor in the middle order, he scored 220 runs in 6 innings. During an important run-chase against Himachal Pradesh, Anvay played a brilliant inning of 82 not out and led his team to victory. Before this, he had scored a brilliant century in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy.
