The draft list of 71.33 lakh voters has been released in Uttarakhand on 14 July 2026. Citizens can file claims and objections through Form 6, 7, 8 till August 13. The final voter list will be published on September 15.

Dehradun. Under the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India, after the completion of the first phase of the special intensive revision program in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Chief Electoral Officer Dr. BVRC Purushottam, the draft voter list has been published on 14 July 2026. On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande gave detailed information in a press conference at the media center on Tuesday. Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that after the completion of the first phase of SIR, names of 71,33,785 voters in the state have been included in the draft voter list.

Time for objections from 14th July to 13th August 2026

Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that the SIR process is being conducted in the state of Uttarakhand on the basis of the eligibility date of July 1, 2026. The work of distribution and digitization of census sheets was completed in the state from June 8 to July 7. He said that compared to 11733 polling centers in the past, currently the number of polling centers has increased to 12543. Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that the Commission has given time to voters to file claims and objections on Forms 6, 7 and 8 between July 14 and August 13, 2026. He informed that the notice period and claims and objections will be resolved from July 14 to September 11, 2026. The final voter list will be published on 15 September 2026.

Mistakes found in 19 lakh voters

Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that out of 71,33,785 voters currently included in the draft voter list, various types of discrepancies were found in about 19 lakh voters for whom notices will be issued by the concerned ERO/AERO. He informed that for the hearing of notices, camps will be set up in the clusters at the Nyaya Panchayat level, along with this, for the convenience of the voters of the plain area, instructions have also been given to the DEO/ERO to set up camps at the Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayat and ward level in addition to the tehsil.

Those whose name is not in the voter list should fill Form 6.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that such citizens whose names are not included in the voter list can apply to get their names registered by filling Form 6 in offline mode from their respective BLO and in online mode through ECInet app. Along with this, name deletion and name correction can be done through Form 7 and 8. Presently it is mandatory to fill Annexure 4 along with Form 6 and 8.

List of documents accepted by the Election Commission

1. Any identity card/pension payment order issued to a regular employee/pensioner of any Central Government/State Government/PSU.

2. Any identity card/certificate/document issued by Government/Local Authority/Bank/Post Office/LIC/PSU in India before 01.07.1987.

3. Birth certificate issued by the competent authority.

4. Passport.

5. Matriculation/Educational Certificate issued by recognized Boards/Universities.

6. Permanent Residence Certificate issued by the competent state authority.

7. Forest Rights Certificate.

8. Certificate of OBC/SC/ST or any caste issued by the competent authority.

9. National Register of Citizens (wherever in existence).

10. Family Registers prepared by State/Local Authorities.

11. Any land/house allotment certificate issued by the government.

12. With respect to Aadhaar, the instructions of the Commission, issued vide letter No. 23/2025-ERS/Vol-II dated 09.09.2025, will be applicable.
