Mustafabad: A sad news has come out from Mustafabad area of North-East Delhi. Here a 25-year-old newly-wed bride allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a building. The woman’s family has made serious allegations against her husband and in-laws of harassing her for dowry.
According to the police, this tragic incident happened on Monday. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared her dead. Initial investigation has revealed that the woman had married a boy of her choice about three months ago. It was a love marriage. The victim’s family alleges that just a month after the marriage, her husband and in-laws started pressurizing her for gold and cash. She says that she was constantly being mentally harassed due to these dowry demands. She was living under a lot of stress for the last several weeks.
There is anger in the family after this death and they are demanding strict action against the accused. Confirming the incident, a police officer said that legal action has been initiated and further investigation into the matter is underway.
