According to Drik Panchang, this year the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi will be observed on 25th July. Devshayani Ekadashi is considered very important among all Ekadashi, because on this day Lord Vishnu goes into Yoga Nidra and with this the four month Chaturmas begins. This year Chaturmas is starting from 25th July.
It will conclude on 20th November, on Devuthani Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On this day, God will wake up from Yoga Nidra and take charge of the world once again. The importance of fasting and worship of Devshayani Ekadashi does not diminish due to Lord Vishnu going into Yoga Nidra. Cereal: Donate wheat, rice, pulses etc. on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi. Donating food has been considered a great donation in the scriptures. Donating food on this day brings special blessings of Lord Vishnu.
Water: On this day, arrange for drinking water or give cold water to passers-by. In Sanatan Dharma, giving water to the thirsty is considered a very virtuous act.
