DIY Cement Planter: Learn how to make an easy cement planter at home from an old kitchen towel. Learn step by step method for DIY home decor and give a stylish look to the balcony.
To make the house look beautiful, it is not necessary that you buy expensive planters. With the help of some simple steps and artistry, a fancy planter can be ready within Rs 20. If you have an old or worn out kitchen towel in your kitchen, then it’s time to give it a makeover. You can make a planter only with the help of cement solution and white paint. Know which 4 steps should be adopted.
Step 1: Prepare colored kitchen towels
If the kitchen towel is old then it is good but keep in mind that it should not be torn. First of all, wash and dry the kitchen towel thoroughly so that there is no dust or dirt on it.
Step 2: Make Cement Slurry
You can easily get cement from the market for Rs 20 per kg. Prepare a thick solution by mixing it with water in a bowl or bucket. Keep in mind that the mixture should not be too thin otherwise the cement will not stick to the cloth. If you want, you can also add some white cement to it. Using two cements gives a good finish.
Step 3: Dip the towel in cement
Dip the kitchen towel completely in the then prepared cement solution. Keep in mind that the cloth gets thoroughly wet from all sides. Now hang the cloth or squeeze the cloth lightly to remove excess cement. By doing this, excess cement will be removed from the cloth.

Step 4: Shape on Plastic Pot
Place an empty plastic pot upside down and then put a towel soaked in cement on top of this inverted pot. Now check that the cloth is not folded anywhere. Adjusting the fabric slightly will create beautiful folds.
Now leave the cloth for 1 day to dry. Then the next day when the pot dries, straighten it and fill it with the color of your choice. Make drainage at the bottom so that drainage continues while planting the plant. In this way, a beautiful planter will be ready at a low cost.
