The by -election in Ludhiana (West), Punjab is going to be held in the coming days. There is a possibility of tough competition between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party here. At the same time, the Congress has started preparations for the assembly elections to be held in 2027. Punjab Congress has launched the ‘Jadega Block Jegi Congress’ campaign.
Under this campaign, an election rally was held in Sultanpur Lodhi assembly constituency today, in which Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading, MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and senior Congress leaders attended.
Another rally took place on the other side. This rally was organized by Rana Indra Pratap Singh, son of Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh. In the 2022 election, he contested from Sultanpur Lodhi as an independent candidate and won and reached the assembly.
Congress split up
Recently, Rana Gurjeet and other Congress leaders raised their voice against the current Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading. After this, the matter reached the high command. However, Punjab in -charge Bhupesh Baghel also clarified in the media and said that there is no revolt against the president, but the Punjab Congress is united. He also claimed victory in the next election.
There was a rebellion in 2022 also
During the assembly elections, Rana Gurjit Singh wanted his son to contest from Sultanpur Lodhi, while the Congress adopted a family, a ticket policy. Under this, Rana Gurjeet got a ticket, but his son Rana Indra Pratap did not get the ticket.
Rana Inder contested as an independent candidate and reached the assembly after defeating the Congress candidate to Sultanpur Lodhi. Today’s rally is also being seen as a rebellion. However, a picture of Rana Gurjit Singh was not put in this rally, but having two rallies in the same city at the same time highlights the upheaval going on inside the Congress.
