Khan Global Studies Center Controversy: A court in Bihar on Saturday gave a big relief to famous teacher Faisal Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’. The court gave this decision while hearing his anticipatory bail petition. The court has upheld the order of ‘no coercive action’. This means that the police cannot take any coercive action against Khan sir till the next hearing in the coaching institute firing case.

Earlier, Patna Police had registered an FIR against Faisal Khan and two others in connection with the firing and vandalism incident that took place outside Khan sir’s coaching institute on June 2. This FIR was registered a few days after the incident when a group of people vandalized the ‘Khan Global Studies’ Institute and threw stones on the campus.

What did the police do in Khan sir case?

  • Officials said today that on the basis of video evidence, two guards attached to the institute have been arrested. According to a press release issued from the office of Patna City SP (Central), the incident took place around 10:10 pm on June 2. Some people pelted stones and vandalized the ‘Khan Global Studies’ coaching centre.
  • The police statement said, “After the incident, case number 410/26 was registered and investigation was initiated. During the investigation, a video was found in which two people were seen firing in the air after the vandalism.

Two guards were caught with weapons

  • After examining the video footage, police identified two guards associated with the institute and took them into custody. Based on investigation of the sequence of events and recovery of weapons, the police added the names of Khan sir and two others to the FIR under sections of incitement and the Arms Act.
  • Later, in view of this incident, Patna Police also issued an appeal to the student community. The police urged the students not to be influenced by the ongoing professional enmity or competition between different coaching centres.
  • “All students are requested not to get misled by anyone amid the competition of coaching centres. There will be no compromise in the matter of crime control and maintenance of law and order,” the statement stressed. (ANI)
