Bimal Oberoi on idea of making Firdaus
Speaking exclusively to us, Bimal revealed how he got the idea of creating Firdaus while he was shooting for Tiger 3. “Open mein shooting thi, 100 metres left and 100 metres right, there were barricades and thousand of girls were shouting Salman, Salman, Salman. I had an idea in my mind because I had heard this line seher ki vo konsi Firdaus hai jise hum nahi jaante. I always felt that there was a song in it. So, when I saw this, I felt this song could only be written for people like Salman Khan or our He-Man, Dharmendra ji,” he said.
The actor further admitted that he wrote the whole song while thinking of Salman. Later, when he penned the lyrics, music director Prasad S called him to a studio. Gaurav Chandelya, who has directed and conceptualised the track, told Oberoi to recite the lines. “And I recited it in the studio. Later, he fixed the music around it. He made the hook line later, and that’s how the song was made. This is performative poetry, not singing,” he shared.
The actor recalled how even Amitabh Bachchan had recited the lines Main Aur Meri Tanhai In Silsila. That sort of thing was structured into an entire song. What happened next? “Then, Gaurav made a funny concept, where there is a roadside romeo who behaves like a millionaire. He gets out of the auto and wears colourful clothes. I would love that people also watch that video. It’s a very funny concept.”
