After Andhra Pradesh was all out for 344 runs in the first innings, Himachal Pradesh responded by scoring 500 runs. The biggest role in Himachal reaching such a big score was played by its captain i.e. Rishi Dhawan. Rishi Dhawan came at number six and scored a brilliant century.

Himachal Pradesh captain faced 318 balls and scored 195 runs. That is, he missed his double century by just 5 runs. Rishi Dhawan’s innings included 21 sixes-fours i.e. 19 fours and 2 sixes. The special thing about this inning was that it was the biggest inning of Rishi Dhawan’s first class career. Rishi Dhawan has scored 6 centuries in his first class career but this was his biggest score. Before this his highest score was 128 runs.

The start of Himachal Pradesh’s first innings against Andhra Pradesh was not good. His 3 wickets had fallen within 60 runs. But then after that, the middle order batsmen did amazing batting and gave the team a lead of 156 runs in the first innings.
