Under which 6 new air quality monitoring stations will be installed in many parts of the city. The government’s move aims to better and widely monitor the pollution level.
Recently, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced in the Assembly that 6 new air quality monitoring centers (Air Quality Monitoring Center) will be set up in Delhi. In such a situation, it is now being completed. The areas where new stations will be set up include Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Delhi Cantt, Netaji Subhash University (West Campus) and Games Sports Complex.
The number of air monitoring stations will be 46
After the commencement of these 6 new centers, the total number of air monitoring stations in Delhi will increase to 46. It is being told that this expansion will play an important role in understanding the seriousness of air pollution in the capital and preparing a strategy to deal with it. Real-time data from these monitoring units will be very helpful in understanding the trends of pollution. Through this, it will be possible to identify the sources of pollution and take action on them in time.
Work on installing new stations continues
At present, the process of setting up all these six stations is going on fast. It is being told that a target has been set to start them by June 30, 2025. The government hopes that this step will not only strengthen Delhi’s air monitoring system, but it will also be easy to make concrete policy towards improving air quality.
