There was heavy drizzle along with strong winds in the capital Delhi-NCR on Monday night. Due to this, a drop in day temperature was recorded on Tuesday also. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the people of Delhi will get relief from the heat this week also.
Relief to the people of Delhi from the scorching heat
The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius till Friday (May 3). Strong winds will also blow during this period. Due to this, people will get some respite from the heat during the day. There is a possibility of winds blowing at a speed of 35 to 45 kilometers in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. There will also be light clouds during the day.
Temperature crossed 47 degrees in Jharkhand
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has shared the data of the districts and areas of the states with the highest temperatures in the country. While sharing a chart on social media account X, it was said that the maximum temperature recorded in Kolkata on Tuesday was 43 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Jharsuguda, Odisha on Tuesday was 44.2 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 44.2 degrees was recorded in Angul district of Odisha. The temperature reached 45.5 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. The highest temperature of 47.1 degrees was recorded in Baharagora, Jharkhand on Tuesday.

Among these, maximum heat is being experienced in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The temperature in Thane, Maharashtra has been recorded above 42 degrees Celsius.
Alert of heavy rain in these parts of the country
Contrary to the rising temperature and heat, an alert for rain has also been issued in some parts of the country. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in Northeast India in the next 3-4 days. Along with heavy rains, landslides may also occur in many districts of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
