Delhi: MCD unveils advanced eye care centre with laser tech at Swami Dayanand Hospital

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) inaugurated an advanced eye care centre at Swami Dayanand Hospital in East Delhi. The advanced centre will provide specialised treatment facilities for the Delhi-NCR residents.

The new facility will have advanced ophthalmic equipment like ND: YAG lasers, green lasers, and Optical Coherence Tomography Machines, which could easily detect the problems early and also treat conditions like glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

The eye centre is set up in the Swami Dayanand Hospital’s OPD block, where patients can come for specialist treatment with modern machines.

Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh inaugurated the facility and said that the MCD is constantly focusing on advancing healthcare services in the national capital.

Chairperson and Standing Committee, Satya Sharma; Chairman and Shahdara North Zone, Puneet Sharma; Area Councillor, Veer Singh Pawar; Additional Commissioner, Pankaj Naresh Agarwal; and Director, Hospital Administration, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bansal, along with senior MCD officials, graced the inauguration

Singh stated that providing world-class healthcare facilities to the residents of Delhi is the top priority. The establishment of the advanced set-up at Swami Dayanand Hospital is a significant step in the state to ensure affordable and quality medical care to the citizens.

The mayor also inspected the ICU and the hospital’s Lactation Management Unit. The functioning of the Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy machine was also reviewed by Singh.

Furthermore, he confirmed that the civic body would continue to expand the advanced facilities in the national capital.
