In Delhi, the police has exposed a gang which used to sell newborn babies for lakhs of rupees. The mastermind of the gang is a woman, who ran her own nursing home.
New Delhi: In Delhi, police have busted a big gang involved in human trafficking. This gang used to kidnap newborn children and sell them. Police have arrested 12 people including the gang’s mastermind woman in this case. Besides, the police also rescued 5 newborn children by conducting an intelligence operation. According to the police, the arrested main accused woman has her own nursing home. She claimed to be a doctor, but police are now examining her documents to find out if she is really a qualified doctor.
Investigating officers said that this gang used to bring newborn children from different states. Then he used to prepare their fake birth certificates and other documents. After this, these people would sell those children at high prices to couples who did not have children. Children were traded for lakhs of rupees.
Out of the five children who were saved in this police action, one is only 5 days old. At the same time, one child is 20 days old, two children are 27-27 days old and one child is four months old. Police have arrested these accused from Delhi and Rajasthan. Initial investigation has also revealed that the gang had sold some children in Haryana also.
From the evidence received by the police, it is suspected that till now more than 20 newborn children have been trafficked through this network. At present, further investigation is going on in this matter.
Earlier on June 2, the police had caught a similar child lifter gang in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. UP Police were searching for a missing child when their investigation led them to a four-member gang. The police had saved a 17-year-old boy from the clutches of this gang. The DSP said that the four arrested accused are from different districts and are part of a big network, which trafficks all types of children as per the demand.
