Day 4: Chennai Love Story Shows a Good Monday Hold

The recently released Telugu film Chennai Love Story is performing well at the box office.

The romantic drama hit theatres on July 24, at a time when several filmmakers postponed their releases to avoid a clash with Jana Nayagan.

However, the makers of Chennai Love Story stood firm despite limited pre-release buzz, and their confidence appears to have paid off.

The film registered a strong opening weekend and maintained a decent hold on Monday.

On Day 4, Chennai Love Story collected ₹3 crore net across 1,782 shows. This represents a 53.8 per cent drop from Sunday’s net collection of ₹6.5 crore.

With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached ₹20.2 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹23.2 crore.

Overseas, the film earned ₹0.5 crore on Day 4, taking its total international gross to ₹5.5 crore.

The worldwide gross collection of Chennai Love Story now stands at ₹28.7 crore.

Directed by Ravi Namburi, the film is produced by Srinivasa Kumar and Sai Rajesh under the Mass Movie Makers and Amrutha Productions banners. Mani Sharma has composed the music.
