2026 Skoda Slavia facelift gets a fresh new look and tech features, while retaining the existing engine options
After introducing the updated Kushaq in March this year, Skoda is readying the Slavia facelift. In the mid-size sedan segment, Slavia is currently the car after Volkswagen Virtus. The latter is also expected to get its facelift version later this year. Both Slavia and Virtus will have a largely similar set of updates.
Slavia facelift launch on 18th August
Test mules of Slavia facelift have been spotted multiple times in recent months. Official launch date has now been confirmed for 18th August. Exterior updates are expected to be focused largely on the front and rear. Slavia facelift could get refreshed LED DRLs, a sharper grille and a revised front bumper. The broader objective could be to achieve a cleaner aesthetic for the sedan.
Several of the test mules have been spotted with only front and rear camouflage. Side profile is largely the same as the current model. However, the facelift could get a new design for the alloy wheels. At the rear, Slavia facelift is expected to get revised tail lamps in a connected format, illuminated SKODA logo and a redesigned bumper. Some new colour options could be added to the facelift model.
Interior updates
Equipment upgrades for Slavia facelift could be similar to that of Kushaq facelift launched earlier this year. 2026 Slavia could get features like a larger digital instrument console and new seat upholstery. Kushaq was also updated with segment first rear seat massage. It remains to be seen if this update is introduced with the Slavia facelift as well. Safety could be enhanced with features such as front parking sensors.
Slavia already offers a robust safety package with features such as 6 airbags, hill hold control, electronic stability control, electronic differential lock, multi collision braking and traction control system. Existing features such as a single-pane sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless charging and an 8-speaker audio system are expected to be carried forward.
New 8-speed automatic transmission
Skoda Slavia facelift will continue with the existing engine options. However, a major update is likely in the form of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This smoother transmission was first introduced with the . It works as a replacement for the 6-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual transmission will be carried over.
Slavia’s 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates 116 PS and 178 Nm of torque. The larger 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generates 150 PS and 250 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. With the updates, Slavia facelift could be offered at a slightly higher pricing.
