Bareilly Honor Killing (UP): A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Sirauli area of Bareilly. Police said on Wednesday that a 22-year-old girl was beaten and strangled to death here. Investigation has revealed that it is a case of ‘honour killing’ and the girl’s father and two brothers are involved. The family members were hastily preparing to perform the last rites of the girl, but then the girl’s uncle became suspicious and informed the police.
The family was opposing the relationship
According to police investigation, the girl was in a love affair with a boy from another community. She wanted to marry him, but her family was strongly against the relationship. Her family members had warned her several times to end the relationship. On Tuesday, when the girl was talking to her boyfriend on the phone, her family members caught her. After this there was a huge altercation in the house. It is alleged that during this quarrel, his father and brothers first beat him and then strangulated him to death.
Police reached the spot on the information of the girl’s uncle. The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. In the post-mortem report, the cause of death has been stated to be strangulation. Besides, at least ten serious injury marks were also found on the body. Based on the uncle’s complaint, an FIR has been registered under section 103 (murder) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya has confirmed the arrest of the three accused. He has been sent to judicial custody.
