Rajanna Sirsilla: Hearing or seeing the name of Pani-Puri (Golgappa) makes the mouth water. From children to the elderly and especially women, they eat it with great enthusiasm. But sometimes street food also becomes poison and takes you straight to the hospital. One such serious case of food poisoning has come to light from Rajanna Sircilla district of Telangana. Here in Thangalpalli mandal, about 15 children fell ill after eating Panipuri, who had to be immediately admitted to the hospital.
According to Thangalpalli police, “The children and their families had eaten panipuri from a street vendor who had come to sell it inside the colony. Shortly thereafter, 15 children started vomiting and having diarrhoea. They were immediately admitted to Rajanna Sircilla district civil hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. No complaint has been received from the family yet. After receiving the information, we have taken the panipuri vendor into custody and he is being interrogated.”
10 children sick in Guna, Madhya Pradesh
- Earlier, on June 8, a similar case was reported in Guna, Madhya Pradesh. Officials said more than a dozen children in Wards 9 and 10 fell ill after allegedly drinking contaminated water and were admitted to the district hospital.
- After this incident, the district administration started investigation and took water samples from the affected area and sent them to the lab for testing to find out the cause of the disease.
What is the most dangerous thing in Panipuri?
- The doctor of the hospital said that today the case of Ward 9 and 10 came to my notice, in which some children fell ill due to contaminated water and are admitted in the district hospital. As soon as I got the information, I sent a team to collect samples from the area.”
- According to Dhemri, the water tank from which it is supplied supplies water to at least six wards.
Symptoms of reading sick from Panipuri
The doctor said that symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache and in some cases jaundice were seen in the children. “It has come to our notice that the condition of some children is now stable. None of the cases are serious,” a doctor told ANI. He also informed that about 10 children aged between 5 to 11 years are admitted in the district hospital.
Should one eat Panipuri during rainy season?
Experts and doctors believe that due to humidity during monsoon season i.e. rainy days, bacteria and fungus grow quickly in contaminated water and chutney. Due to which the risk of food poisoning, diarrhea, typhoid and stomach infection increases significantly. Therefore, one should stay away from street food as much as possible during this season. Or you can eat Golgappa at a place where cleanliness and proper water is used.
