New prices of gas cylinders have come into effect in the country from May 1. Amidst the Middle East tension, the government companies of the country have increased the prices of cylinders. From May 1, 2026, there has been a lump sum increase of about Rs 993 in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders. Now the prices of commercial LPG in many cities of the country including Delhi and Mumbai have crossed Rs 3 thousand. However, there has been no increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders yet.
The price of 19 kg commercial cylinder has been increased by Rs 993 from today. From today, a 19 kg cylinder will be available in Delhi for Rs 3071.50. However, domestic cylinder prices will still be available at the same prices as before. There has been no change in their prices.

Commercial LPG cylinder in the country’s capital Delhi has now cost ₹ 3071.50, which was earlier ₹ 2078.50. That means there has been an increase of ₹ 993 in one stroke. Whereas domestic gas cylinder is still available for ₹913.

Prices in other cities of the country
The price of commercial cylinder in the financial capital Mumbai has now reached Rs 3024, whereas earlier it was available for around Rs 2031. Similarly, its price in Kolkata has increased to ₹ 3202. The situation is no different in Chennai, the big city of South India. Here commercial cylinder is available for Rs 3237. At the same time, in Uttar Pradesh, the price of cylinder has increased to ₹ 3125.50 in Agra, ₹ 3194 in Lucknow and ₹ 3255.50 in Gorakhpur. However, it is a matter of relief that at present there has been no major change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders and they have remained at the same level as before.
Delivery will not happen without OTP
From today the rules related to gas delivery have also changed. The rules for delivery of gas cylinders have been made more strict from May 1. Now, while getting the cylinder, it will be mandatory for the consumer to quote the OTP received on his registered mobile number. Delivery will not be valid without OTP. If your mobile number is not updated, the delivery boy can update it on the spot through the app.
