This creamy textured sandwich tastes amazing and is rich in many nutrients including protein. If you prepare and eat this curd sandwich, you will say bye-bye to cheese or mayonnaise. Curd Sandwich is healthy as well as tasty and is a great tasty option for mid-summer cravings or breakfast.
Hung curd is used in curd sandwich which gives it a creamy texture and also adds protein. Apart from this, you can add seasonal vegetables to it which are rich in micro nutrients. So let’s know the step by step recipe of curd sandwich.
Ingredients of Dahi Sandwich
In summer, curd is available in the fridge in most of the houses, because it is very useful in making raita to lassi. So let’s make curd sandwich this time. To make 1 sandwich, you need 3/4 cup hung curd (tie the curd in a cloth and hang it till all the water drains out), 1 cup vegetables (finely chopped cucumber, capsicum, grated carrot and 1 small onion), 1 tablespoon chopped coriander, 1 tablespoon chopped mint, 1 chopped green chilli, black pepper and red chilli flakes, salt as per taste.

You need butter, 8 slices of bread, coriander chutney (optional), half teaspoon desi ghee for baking all the sandwiches, 1/4 teaspoon mustard, 2 to 3 curry leaves.
How to make curd sandwich?
- Take out hung curd in a bowl and then mix all the finely chopped vegetables in it. Like cucumber, carrot, onion, whatever you have.
- Now add black pepper, salt, red chili flakes, green chili, mint, green coriander and then mix everything well.
- Now you have to spread butter well on the bread slices. After this, spread the prepared curd mixture and apply the second buttered bread on top.

- Similarly, after applying butter on all the bread, prepare a sandwich by applying a mixture of curd and vegetables.
- Heat a non-stick pan on very low flame. Add ghee, mustard seeds and 2-3 curry leaves and crackle it.
- Now roast all the sandwiches on the tawa one by one in the same manner until they become golden and crispy.
- You can eat these sandwiches immediately with green chutney or pack them in office and school tiffins.
Note important tips
Keep in mind that the water from the curd should drain out well, because vegetables also contain water and if you do not prepare the hung curd properly then there will be difficulty in making the sandwich. You can prepare this sandwich in advance and keep it in the refrigerator and roast it immediately at the time of serving. If you want to eat a cold sandwich, you can enjoy it straight from the fridge without baking it.
