Travel News Desk,There was a crowd of passengers going home during the festive season at Dehradun railway station. There was a struggle to get seats mainly in trains going to Purvanchal. The situation was such that people were forced to travel by hanging on the window of the general bogie. The condition of the crowd of passengers was such that there was no significant difference between the general carriage and the reserved carriage. Those who did not get space in the normal trains, boarded the reserved trains and left for their destination. Many passengers were seen requesting the TTE to board the train only after paying the fine.
Most of the people from Delhi and Purvanchal who study and work in Dehradun return home to celebrate the festival. Due to this, there is always crowd in trains leaving from Dehradun during the festive season. In such a situation, the passengers who had booked earlier got their seats, but the passengers traveling at the last moment are getting waiting tickets and due to the ticket not being confirmed, they are not able to get a seat in the train. Due to this they are facing problems.
Dehradun Subedarganj Express running between Dehradun and Subedarganj (Prayagraj) departed packed with passengers on Saturday afternoon. Janta Express, which was supposed to leave for Varanasi at 6:30 pm, also packed its luggage and left. Dehradun Howrah Express, which was supposed to leave at 9:45 pm, also left with full capacity. Chief Commercial Inspector SK Aggarwal said that all the trains are almost full during the festive season. More crowd is being seen in trains going towards Purvanchal.
