6 teams will play in 2028
Recently, IOC (International Olympic Committee) had approved the inclusion of 6-6 teams of men and women in the Los Angeles Olympics 2028, which will have to compete in T20 format for the medal. Apart from this, quota of 90-90 athletes was also approved in both classes. That is, every team can announce a 15 -member squad for the Olympics.
However, the qualification criterion has not been fixed for this. According to reports, due to being a host, the US team can get direct entry. Subsequently, teams can be selected based on the ranking of ICC for the remaining 5 places. This means that the ICC’s top-5 teams may be included in the Olympics.
