In a heart-wrenching acid attack case reported from Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, the fast track court on Monday gave an important verdict and sentenced the guilty wife to life imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1.75 lakh on the accused, the amount of which will be given to the victim. A night that changed life forever
This incident, which took place on the night of 7 March 2025 in Badaun Darwaza area of Sadar Kotwali area of Sambhal, shocked the entire area. The victim, Muzaffar Ali, had allegedly seen his wife Kahkansha in a compromising position with her lover. After this incident, an atmosphere of tension was created in the house. It is alleged that on the same night when Muzaffar Ali was sleeping, his wife Kahkansha threw acid on his face. Due to this sudden attack, Muzaffar Ali got seriously burnt and his life changed forever.

Treatment continued for six months, still eyesight did not return
Muzaffar Ali’s face was badly burnt due to the acid attack. The most serious effect was on his eyes, due to which he lost the vision in both his eyes. Apart from this, his shoulder and stomach area were also affected by the splashes of acid. After the incident, he was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi in critical condition. Despite treatment and medical efforts that lasted for about six months, his vision could not return. This accident caused him deep trauma not only physically but also at mental and social level.
The hearing lasted for a year, appeared in the court 10 times
The case was heard in the court of Additional District Judge (Fast Track Court) Gopal (HJS). A total of 10 hearings were held during the judicial process that lasted for more than a year. On May 27, 2026, the court had convicted accused Kahkansha under sections 352, 351(2), 124(1), 109(1) and 118(2) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). After this the decision was reserved. While delivering the final verdict on Monday, the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.75 lakh.
The victim will get the fine amount
The amount of fine of Rs 1.75 lakh imposed by the court will be provided to the victim Muzaffar Ali. Legal experts believe that financial assistance in such cases can prove vital for the rehabilitation and future needs of the victim.
Preparation to challenge in High Court
After the verdict, the accused party has said that it will approach the High Court. The accused’s advocate Pinky Sharma said that they will prepare to appeal against this decision in the High Court. He says that the defense did not get enough time in the case, on the basis of which further legal challenge will be made.
