Indian Army’s brave dog Phantom was martyred in the eight-hour long gunfight between terrorists and security forces on the Line of Control in Jammu’s Akhnoor sector on Monday. The firing started at around seven in the morning. In fact, terrorists attacked an ambulance included in the army convoy in the battle area of ​​Akhnoor Khur, about 85 kilometers from Jammu city, after which the army started a search operation.

Dog Phantom was born on 25 May 2020. He was of the Belgian Malinois breed, which was specially trained as an assault dog. Officials said that he was deployed on August 12, 2022 and was issued from the RVC Center in Meerut. Army dogs are equipped with gadgets that allow them to spy on enemy targets from close range. An Indian Army officer said that we salute the supreme sacrifice of our true hero, a brave Indian Army dog ​​Phantom.

It is suspected that three terrorists were involved in the encounter with security forces. The only terrorist killed in the encounter was wearing clothes like army combat uniform. Officials believe that this terrorist was linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group.

Terrorists have created terror in the valley

There have been eight terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last two weeks, in which more than a dozen people have been killed. On October 24, a convoy of Rashtriya Rifles personnel and civilian porters was heading towards Nagin Post in the Afrawat Range when terrorists attacked two army trucks near Botapathri, about 6 km from Gulmarg. Two soldiers and two people were killed in this attack. On October 20, terrorists killed seven people at a construction site in Sonamarg in Ganderbal district. The victims included a doctor and six migrant labourers. Apart from this, two days ago another migrant laborer from Bihar was also attacked.
