Cotton University and Aaranyak signed an MoU for academic and research collaboration in areas such as biodiversity conservation, climate change and sustainable development. This five-year partnership will promote joint research, internships and knowledge sharing.
Guwahati (Assam) [भारत]July 27 (ANI): Cotton University (CU) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aaranyak. Its objective is to promote cooperation in academic and research initiatives focused on biodiversity conservation, climate change, environmental governance, disaster risk reduction and sustainable development.
According to the press release, this MoU was signed by Dr. Hiren Deka, Registrar of Cotton University and Dr. Bibhab Kumar Talukdar, General Secretary of Aranyak, along with Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, Prof. Signed in the presence of Ramesh Chandra Deka. This five-year partnership will promote knowledge-sharing through joint research, student internships, faculty and researcher exchange, capacity-building programmes, collaborative publications, and seminars and workshops.
During the signing of the MoU, Dean of Research and Development Prof. Shantanu Sarma, Dean of Students Welfare Prof. Ishan Kalita, Dr. Narayan Sharma of the Department of Environmental Biology and Wildlife Sciences along with two senior scientists and directors of Aaranyak, Dr. Partha Jyoti Das and Udayan Borthakur were also present. The press release mentions that this collaboration is an important step towards pursuing interdisciplinary research, environmental management and meaningful academic engagement for the benefit of the society and the region.
