Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 30 (Desk): Karnataka Congress leader BK Hariprasad expressed confidence in the INDIA bloc’s win in the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections.
He said, “The INDIA bloc will sweep the J&K and Haryana assembly elections.”
The third and final phase of voting will take place on October 1, while the counting of votes will be held on October 8 in Jammu and Kashmir, while Haryana goes to the polls on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly to form its next government, with the counting set to take place on October 8.
Meanwhile, on the allegations faced by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam issue, he said, “Everything is in the court of law and law will take its course. It is the court that will decide neither HD Kumaraswamy nor Mr. Yediyurappa.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that he will not “back down” in the wake of the allegations regarding the alleged MUDA scam and stated that his “conscience will not be shaken” as long as he has the support of the people.
As the allegations surfaced, the BJP has come out guns blazing at the Congress party, accusing it of supporting “corrupt” leaders and demanding CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation.
State BJP President targeted CM Siddaramiah saying, “Even though the legal noose is tightening, courts are issuing verdicts and orders against you on corruption scams, you and your Congress are ‘behaving brazenly’. It will remain a permanent black mark in the country’s history.”
Meanwhile, Lokayukta Police filed an FIR against Siddaramaiah and others in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment ‘scam’.
It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife in the prime location of Mysuru city.
The FIR has been filed by the Mysuru Lokayukta under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 351, 420, 340, 09, and 120B, among others. The FIR mentions CM Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law and others as accused in the MUDA case. (Desk)
