Congress is not a part of our government… Big statement of Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given a big statement on Friday. He said that Congress is not a part of our government, they are supporting us from outside. CM Omar Omar also talked about the elections in Maharashtra and alleged atrocities on civilians in Jammu region. Omar Abdullah said these things while addressing the media on Friday. Cabinet meeting was held on Friday. In this meeting, the Congress’s stand on the Assembly resolution, prisoners and army’s atrocities on the local people in Kishtwar were discussed.

Let us tell you that Congress and National Conference had contested the assembly elections together. National Conference got full majority in the elections and formed the government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, but Congress is supporting this government from outside.

Said this on the proposal of special status of the state

Responding to a question about the fate of the special status proposal, Omar said that the proposal was passed by majority in the Assembly. Congress members were also present in the house. It is alive and not rejected. If we get statehood, we will take this matter forward.

Responding to another question about the release of political prisoners, Omar said, “Law and order and security are under the jurisdiction of the Centre. Despite this situation, we have been successful in simplifying the verification process. I had given a speech in the Assembly that verification has been weaponized. “Steps have been taken to simplify this and further progress is expected in this regard.”

The Chief Minister said that some people criticized the government and said that there was nothing in the proposal. Omar asked, “If there was nothing in the proposal, then why do Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah talk about it again and again.”

Formation of cabinet sub-committee consisting of three members

He said that after Jammu and Kashmir gets statehood, the government will advocate the cases of political prisoners and ensure their release. Regarding today’s cabinet meeting, Omar said that the important decision taken in today’s meeting was to constitute a three-member cabinet sub-committee, which will take a holistic approach in the background of the Supreme Court directions.

“The committee will submit a report to the cabinet and we will see how far we can go to rationalize the reservation policy,” Omar said. To a question about alleged atrocities on civilians in Kishtwar, the Chief Minister said that he had earlier also seen people dying during atrocities in police and security forces camps.

Omar said, “Thank God no one died here. I urge the Army to thoroughly investigate the matter and if any misconduct by soldiers is found, the culprits should be court-martialed and given severe punishment.” Asked whether there would be improvement in power cuts in winter, Omar said he has directed the electricity department to ensure less power cuts in areas where theft is less. “I hope to see improvement in the power situation in Kashmir this winter,” Omar said.
