Congress changed the Constitution during Indira’s rule, Gadkari’s big claim before the elections

Just before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big allegation against the Congress. Gadkari claimed that Congress had made changes in the Constitution during the reign of Indira Gandhi. Addressing an election rally in Wakad, Gadkari said that during the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party had said that if BJP wins more than 400 seats, it will change the Constitution. The Constitution is a strong part of India’s democracy.

Congress changed the constitution during Indira’s time

Gadkari said that no one can change the Constitution. The reality is that the Constitution was changed during the government of Indira Gandhi. When his election was declared illegal by Allahabad High Court. Then the Congress Party made changes in the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Ambedkar for its benefit. He said that those who once broke the Constitution are using it to spread misinformation and confuse people during elections.

Gadkari said that Congress only gives slogans of ‘Garibi Hatao’. In reality, during their government, the poor faced only problems, even today, wherever Congress is there, the poor are in trouble. During the Congress rule, many programs like 8-point, 20-point and 40-point initiatives were launched with the slogan ‘Garibi Hatao’, but unfortunately, poverty persisted among farmers, labourers, Dalits and Muslims.

We will leave China behind in the next 5 years

Gadkari said that BJP is working to take the country’s economy to Rs 5 trillion. He said that India’s automobile sector is worth Rs 22 lakh crore and ranks third in the world, whereas before 2014 it used to be eighth and worth Rs 7 lakh crore. Due to development and technology we have now left Japan behind. We are behind China and America, but there is hope that in the coming 5 years we will leave China behind.
