Harrawala Railway Station: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation the redeveloped Harrawala Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Passengers will get better facilities at this modern station built at a cost of about Rs 19 crore.
Taking a major step towards strengthening the railway connectivity and passenger amenities of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation the redeveloped Harrawala Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This station located in Dehradun has been modernized at a cost of about Rs 19 crore. Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were also present during the inauguration.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the redevelopment of Harrawala railway station is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. He said that the station has been equipped with modern passenger facilities, while the natural beauty of Doon Valley and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand has also been given importance in its design. A unique confluence of modernity and local culture has been presented by incorporating traditional Aipan art in the station premises.
The Chief Minister said that Indian Railways is rapidly modernizing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indigenous trains like Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat have given a new identity to the country’s railway system.

Hilly areas will benefit from Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project
The Chief Minister said that with the cooperation of the Central Government, the dream of providing railways to the hilly areas of Uttarakhand is fast being realized. He informed that more than 75 percent work of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project has been completed. Its completion will give a new impetus to tourism, trade and local economy in the state. He also said that Uttarakhand has already benefited from two Vande Bharat trains, which has made the travel of passengers and tourists visiting the state more convenient.
Record investment on railway infrastructure, development will gain momentum
According to Chief Minister Dhami, the Central Government has given a record railway budget of Rs 4,769 crore to Uttarakhand this year for railway infrastructure development. At the same time, work is going on on railway projects worth more than Rs 39,491 crore in the state. He expressed confidence that the redeveloped Harrawala Railway Station will not only be a modern station but will prove to be an important milestone in the development journey of Uttarakhand. This will provide better facilities to the passengers and with the expansion of the railway network in the state, economic and tourism activities will also get a new impetus.
