Nutrients of Cockroach Milk
There is a lot of discussion about Cockroach Janata Party, but do you know about Cockroach Milk? Even bread can be made from it. Even though cockroaches are considered the root of diseases in Indian homes, because they spread bacteria by living in dirty places. At present we are talking about cockroaches which are an excellent source of protein and many types of nutrients are also found in the milk produced from it, which are not even found in cow-buffalo milk.

Cockroach milk has more nutrition
According to the National Library of Medicine, milk is a rich source of nutrients and hence most people make cow or buffalo milk a part of their diet. Actually, many bioactive components are found in milk which help in promoting physiological processes. A recent study has shown that milk obtained from the cockroach species Diploptera functata has a higher nutritional value than milk from traditional mammals.
More nutrition than cow-buffalo
Cockroach milk contains more nutrients than cow and buffalo milk. It is a rich store of essential nutrients like oleic acid, conjugated linoleic acid, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins and minerals. D. functata is a species of cockroach that is known to give birth to live offspring. It has the ability to produce milk in the form of a substance containing protein crystals. There is energy store in protein. This is three times or 37% more than the energy obtained from the milk of buffalo and other mammals.

What does the research say?
A study conducted in Brazil showed that flour made from another species of cockroach, Nauphoeta cinerea, contained much more protein than wheat flour. A large amount of eight essential amino acids and omega-9 fatty acids are found in this ‘insect flour’.
Is it better than meat?
If we talk about protein, according to USDA, 27.1 grams of protein is found in 100 grams of roasted mutton. Whereas if we compare it, cockroach can be better in terms of protein. Actually, 50 percent protein is found in red meat whereas 70 percent protein is found in cockroach and there is also a difference in the amount of saturated fat in it.
