CM Rekha Gupta Reviews Drainage Arrangements: Continuous monsoon rains in Delhi have increased the problem of waterlogging in many areas. In such a situation, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta herself entered the field to take stock of the situation. He visited Shalamar village and inspected the drainage systems and instructed the officials present on the spot to speed up the drainage. The government says that all the concerned departments are working actively to ensure that people face minimum problems during monsoon in the capital.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inspected the waterlogging affected areas in Shalamar village. During this, he took information from the officials about the existing drainage system and gave instructions to ensure that the rain water is drained as soon as possible. He said that the problem of waterlogging should be solved immediately so that the local people do not have to face any kind of inconvenience.

Government in alert mode to deal with monsoon
According to the Delhi government, all concerned departments are working in coordination amid heavy rains. Waterlogged areas are being continuously monitored and additional resources are being deployed where needed. The government’s aim is that water should not remain stagnant for long in major roads, colonies and sensitive areas.
Government’s priority to reduce people’s problems
The Chief Minister told the officials that constant monitoring should be maintained at the field level to keep the drainage system effective. Also, action should be taken on priority basis by identifying such areas, where the problem of waterlogging occurs every rain. Delhi government says that relief and monitoring work will continue continuously during the entire monsoon season, so that citizens can get the facility of safe and easy transportation.
