Ketan Agrawal Death: Pune’s famous Ketan Agrawal murder case has become a big challenge for the Maharashtra government as well. For this, CM Devendra Fadnavis himself called the country’s top lawyer.
On Friday, Maharashtra government took a big decision in the Ketan Aggarwal murder case. The government has approved setting up a fast-track court to hear this case. Also, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam has been appointed Special Public Prosecutor in this case. The decision was taken after the victim’s father met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Pune and pleaded for speedy justice in the case. The Chief Minister assured the family that strict action would be taken against the accused and the case would be fast-tracked.
CM Fadnavis himself called the lawyer
- Senior Advocate Ujjwal Nikam told that he had received a call from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, after which he was appointed Special Public Prosecutor. The Chief Minister told him that the Agarwal family had met him and made this request.
- Nikam further said that the Chief Minister described this matter as a challenge for Maharashtra and urged him to take this responsibility, after which he agreed.
Murder case becomes a big challenge for Maharashtra government
Speaking to ANI in Mumbai, Nikam said, “This murder has shaken the entire country. This afternoon I was told by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that the Agarwal family should get justice. I should be appointed Special Public Prosecutor in this case. The Chief Minister told me that this is a challenge for Maharashtra, and he also requested me to work as Special Public Prosecutor in this case. I agreed.
