Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a big gift to the people of the state before the New Year. The government has banned outsiders from purchasing land in the state. Giving information, it has been told that on the instructions of CM Dhami, it has been decided in the interest of the state and public interest that till the time the report of the Land Law Committee is not submitted, there will be a ban on the purchase of land in Uttarakhand by any outsider. . The people of the state will definitely seem happy with this decision taken by the CM before the New Year.

Till further orders in this regard, the District Magistrate will not allow persons from outside the state of Uttarakhand to propose permission to purchase land for agriculture and horticulture purposes. It has been told that only after the report comes, it will be considered how much land outsiders will be allowed to buy. Even before this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions to purchase land in Uttarakhand only after background verification of the buyer before purchasing the land. Today it has been finalized.

Meeting held at Chief Minister’s residence, decision taken

Late on Sunday evening, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high level meeting regarding land law at the Chief Minister’s residence. He instructed the officials that a large-scale public hearing should be conducted by the committee formed for land law. In this, opinion of people and experts associated with various fields should be taken, only after that it will be implemented in the state.

It was said in the meeting that Garhwal and Kumaon Commissioner should also be included for decentralized system for land law. So that the people of these divisions can also give their opinion and the decision will be taken only if it is in favor of the people of the state. During the meeting, along with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, ADG A. P. Anshuman, Secretary and Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Secretary J.C. Kandpal was present.

The provision for purchasing land is like this

According to the amendment made in the year 2004 in Section 154 of the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari and Land System Act 1950, such persons who are not holders of immovable property in the state of Uttarakhand before September 12, 2003, are allowed to purchase land for the purpose of agriculture and horticulture from the District Officer. There is a provision for granting permission by. But at present a drafting committee has been constituted by the state government to prepare new land laws for the state of Uttarakhand.

This committee will prepare its report after taking opinions of different people in the state. After which, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, it was decided in the interest of the state and in the public interest that till the submission of the report of the Land Law Committee or till further orders, the District Magistrate will not propose to allow persons outside the state of Uttarakhand to purchase land for the purpose of agriculture and horticulture. Will not take the final decision.
