Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel met Ireland’s Consul General Patrick Duffy in Vadodara. The CM invited Irish industries and investors to explore investment and business opportunities in the state. Strengthening economic partnership was discussed in the meeting.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met Patrick Duffy, Consul General of Ireland in Mumbai, on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Vadodara on Monday. During this he invited Irish industries and investors to explore investment and business opportunities in the state.

According to an official release, the main focus of the meeting was on strengthening the economic partnership between Gujarat and Ireland. Referring to the opportunities emerging from the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the Chief Minister urged Irish businesses to take advantage of Gujarat’s investment-friendly ecosystem. Both sides also discussed enhancing cooperation in the areas of skill development, technology and sports.

Ireland will participate in Vibrant Gujarat Summit

During the meeting, Patrick Duffy expressed interest in participating in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 and said that Ireland looks forward to organizing a country seminar to explore avenues of collaboration with Gujarat.

The Chief Minister suggested that the Irish delegation visiting for the Summit should also visit the Kite Festival, Statue of Unity and industrial sites across the State to gain a better understanding of Gujarat’s cultural heritage and industrial development.

Chief Secretary Manoj Das, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology P. Bharti and other senior officials were present in this meeting.
