Jaipur (Rajasthan) [भारत]July 1 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday expressed deep grief over the deaths in a bus collision and fire on the Jaipur-Bandikui section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa district. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
CM Sharma said in a post on Twitter, “The news of the death of people in the road accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa is heart-wrenching. May God rest the departed souls in His holy feet and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this huge loss. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa also expressed grief over the deaths and prayed for the injured. He said, “The news of death of people in a road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa is very sad. In this hour of grief, my deepest condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give place to the departed souls at His feet and speedy recovery of the injured.”
8 died, 25 were rescued
A private bus going from Haridwar to Indore collided with a trailer and fell into a ditch on the roadside on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district in the early hours of Wednesday. At least eight passengers died and many others were injured in this accident. Officials said a total of 25 people were rescued.
District Magistrate Soumya Jha said that the bus was going from Rishikesh to Indore when it collided with another vehicle around 3:15-3:30 am. District officials reported that at least 25 people were rescued or managed to escape the fire, and at least 8 were estimated to have died.
Congress MP Murari Lal Meena, representing Dausa (ST) parliamentary constituency, said eight bodies have been recovered so far. “A tragic incident has taken place; around 3:00 am, the bus caught fire after an accident. So far, eight completely burnt bodies have been recovered, and 11 people have been admitted here,” he told ANI.
District Magistrate gave information about the incident
Speaking to ANI, Soumya Jha, District Collector and District Magistrate of Dausa, gave details of the incident. He said, “The bus was going from Rishikesh to Indore when it caught fire after the collision on the Jaipur-Bandikui Expressway around 3:15 or 3:30 in the morning. About 24 or 25 people managed to escape safely and were rescued; they are fine at the moment. Two people died on the spot, and while carrying out the rescue operation after controlling the fire, we found some charred remains. These have been sent to the hospital, and the rescue operation is still on.” Continuing.”
He further said that the exact number of deaths is not yet clear. “About the total casualties–we can only give an approximate figure at this stage; the final count has not been confirmed yet. There are around seven to eight deaths,” he said. (ANI)
