The government has implemented a new law (LPG Amendment Order, 2026) regarding LPG in the last week of May 2026. This is being called the ’30 day rule’. If you have installed a piped natural gas (PNG) meter in your house, then now you cannot keep an LPG cylinder in the house. You will have to surrender your LPG connection exactly within 30 days of the commencement of PNG. Those houses where PNG has arrived will no longer be able to book a new cylinder. The government is doing this so that these cylinders can be sent to those rural areas where piped gas pipelines have not yet been laid.
