Bangladesh vs Australia 1st ODI: There is more than a year left but before that, Bangladesh cricket team is looking in strong form. After defeating Pakistan in the ODI series, Bangladesh has now done what it was waiting for for a long time. After 21 years, Bangladesh has defeated Australia in an ODI match. In the first match of the ODI series played in Mirpur, Bangladesh defeated Australia by 86 runs (DLS method) on the basis of the lethal fast bowling of Nahid Rana. This is Bangladesh’s first win in ODI against Australia since 2005 and only second win overall.
Exactly 21 years ago, in June 2005, Bangladesh defeated Australia by 5 wickets on the basis of Mohammad Ashraful’s brilliant century in Cardiff, England. This was Bangladesh’s first victory in ODI cricket against the then world champion. The special thing was that in that match, the Australian team was full of legends like Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie and was the strongest team at that time.
Although the Australian team did not play with its full strength in the match played on June 9 in Mirpur, it was still not easy for Bangladesh to achieve success. Especially when the team had lost 4 wickets for 140 runs. But on such occasions Mosaddek Hossein Took over the innings and celebrated his return to the team after 4 years with an explosive innings of 86 not out in 70 balls. On the basis of this, Bangladesh had scored a strong score of 284 runs.
