Delhi Police has appealed to maintain peace and avoid rumors amid CJP’s protests over NEET paper leak. The CJP is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation for the families of NEET aspirants and the release of Sonam Wangchuk.
New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): Delhi Police on Monday urged people to maintain peace and avoid spreading rumors or unverified information amid the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests over the alleged NEET exam paper leak. Police also asked the protesters to cooperate with security personnel and follow legal instructions to maintain public order.

The post further read, “The public is advised not to believe or disseminate rumours, misinformation or unverified content through any platform. Citizens are requested to rely only on authentic sources of information and cooperate with Delhi Police in maintaining peace, harmony and public order.”
CJP put forward three demands
Earlier, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das said he met Union Health Minister JP Nadda and raised three demands, including resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of NEET aspirants, “of whom more than 20 have lost their lives”. He said activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is in hospital, should be “immediately released”.
Das said that the protests will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Das told ANI, “We met JP Nadda twice. During the meeting, we put forward our three demands. First, that Sonam Wangchuk be released immediately… Second, we demand that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign; he should either be dismissed from the cabinet or he should resign voluntarily. The protest will continue till we get his resignation. Third, we demand a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants, including More than 20 have lost their lives. We went to JP Nadda with these demands.”
Uproar in the monsoon session of Parliament
All this came as Parliament’s monsoon session got off to a stormy start as both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated disruptions over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and alleged embezzlement of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. Congress-led opposition members demanded discussion on both the issues, leading to repeated sloganeering and adjournment. Both Houses were eventually adjourned for the day and will meet again at 11 am on Tuesday. The monsoon session is scheduled to run till August 13.
Protests intensified on the streets
Meanwhile, protests over alleged exam irregularities intensified in the national capital as members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) attempted to march towards Parliament demanding accountability over the alleged paper leak. Delhi Police personnel were injured while dispersing protesters near Parliament Street. A Delhi Police sub-inspector said, “We were standing near the barricades, stones were thrown from their (protesters) side.” (ANI)
