Chirag model of Nalanda! Why does Nitish Kumar need to be afraid of RCP party?

RCP Singh, who has been in Bihar politics for 2 years, will now jump into the electoral fray. RCP has also announced the formation of a new party for this. Only time will tell who the RCP will be able to cause the most damage in the 2025 elections, but due to the political pattern on which the RCP is moving forward, it is being called the Chirag model of Nalanda.

RCP Singh was once considered the successor of Nitish Kumar from bureaucracy to politics, but with the change of times, RCP has become Nitish’s staunchest opponent. It is said that RCP’s politics can shine now only when Nitish plays some political game.

Darbadar RCP formed its own party

In 2021, RCP Singh left JDU. At that time the party had sought clarification from him on the charge of buying land illegally. RCP was also a minister at the Center at that time, but due to not being sent to Rajya Sabha, he had to resign from the post also.

After this, RCP remained in their village for a few days, but due to Nitish going with RJD, RCP moved towards BJP. When Nitish again joined NDA in 2024, BJP turned its back on RCP.

RCP wanted to contest from Nalanda seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but BJP gave this seat under JDU quota. RCP started living isolated since then.

Recently RCP Singh has announced the formation of his own new party, which has now been given concrete shape. RCP party will enter the election battle of 2025.

RCP’s special focus on Nalanda

RCP Singh is a resident of Mustafapur in Nalanda district. RCP, who comes from the Kurmi community, entered politics for the first time in 2010. At one time RCP was considered the successor of Nitish Kumar, but since 2021, RCP is attacking Nitish.

It is being said that there is still one year left for the 2025 elections and RCP can mainly focus on Nalanda. Kurmi dominated Nalanda is considered the stronghold of Nitish Kumar. There are 7 assembly seats in Nalanda Lok Sabha.

Is RCP Singh the ‘Chirag Model’ of Nalanda?

It is being said in the political circles that the way Chirag Paswan had entered the field in entire Bihar to corner Nitish Kumar in 2020. Similarly, this time RCP Singh is entering Nalanda with strong preparation.

During a press conference in 2022, current Union Minister and former JDU President Lalan Singh had said that if Chirag model had not been there in 2020, JDU would have become the largest party. In 2020, JDU had won only 43 seats.

Nitish Kumar’s party had to face defeat on about 40 assembly seats due to Chirag Paswan’s candidate.

Why does Nitish need to be afraid of RCP?

There are 7 assembly seats in Nalanda, out of which Nitish’s party had won 5 seats last time. Lalu Yadav’s RJD had won one seat and Bharatiya Janata Party had won one seat.

JDU candidate won Islampur seat by 12 votes. Similarly, JDU candidate was able to win the Asthawan seat by 11 thousand votes. JDU candidates had won Nalanda and Rajgir seats by 16 thousand votes each.

In such a situation, if RCP Singh’s candidate is successful in reducing Kurmi votes in a big way in the next elections, then there can be a game in the stronghold with Nitish’s party.

RCP has praised Tejashwi

Before forming the party, RCP Singh had praised RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in an interview. RCP had termed those statements as wrong, in which Tejashwi was being taunted about his education.

RCP said that the education of those elected by the public should not be questioned. Actually, Prashant Kishor, who came into politics through election strategy, is continuously targeting Tejashwi Yadav.
