17 workers died and 19 were injured in a boiler explosion at the Vedanta plant in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh. The administration immediately started the rescue, the treatment of the injured is going on and the government and the company have announced compensation.
Raipur. A major and painful accident occurred due to boiler explosion at the Vedanta plant located at Singhitarai in Sakti district. After this incident, the district administration immediately started taking relief and rescue operations.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is continuously monitoring the situation after this accident. He is constantly in touch with Collector Mr. Amrit Vikas Topno and Superintendent of Police Mr. Prafulla Thakur and is giving necessary guidelines. As soon as information about the incident was received, Collector, SP and administrative team reached the spot and rescue operation was immediately started. The injured were admitted to Fortis Hospital, Medical College and Apex Hospital in Raigarh on priority basis. The seriously injured people were referred to Kalra Hospital in Raipur for better treatment.

- Rs 15 lakh to the injured
- Salary will continue until complete recovery

Magisterial inquiry ordered. Investigation in Boiler Blast Case
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident. The investigation team will inspect the spot soon. SDRF team is also continuously engaged in rescue work.
