Raipur. A unique initiative aimed at women empowerment and promotion of green energy has been launched in Kabirdham district under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN). 35 women self-help group members associated with Vande Mataram cluster level association of the district have been given special training and prepared as “Solar Didi”. After completion of the training, these women will conduct solar energy related works in the villages and provide technical services.
Solar Didi Training: Got special training in solar energy technology
Women were given detailed technical information related to solar systems in the training program organized by expert trainers and officials. It included important topics like installation, operation, repair, maintenance and customer service management of solar equipment. The main objective of the training is to connect rural women with modern technology and make them self-reliant in the technical field.
Rural Women Employment: New opportunities for employment and self-employment
After receiving training, Solar Didis will be able to do installation and repair work of solar energy equipment in villages. This will give them an opportunity to earn regular income. Apart from this, their financial condition will be further strengthened through the commission received on the installation of solar plants. This initiative is proving to open new doors of self-employment for women.
PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Implementation of the scheme will get strength
This initiative will also contribute significantly to the effective operation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. Now locally trained women will be available for installation of solar panels in rural areas and technical assistance related to them. This will enable people to get expert assistance in their own villages and the process of maintenance of equipment will also become easier and accessible.
