Chhattisgarh Minister Tank Ram Verma has taken a big step towards ending VIP culture and has stopped using pilot and follow vehicles in his tours. He described it as an initiative for energy saving, fuel conservation and reducing government expenditure.

Chhattisgarh Government’s Minister of Higher Education, Revenue and Disaster Management, Tank Ram Verma has taken an important decision, keeping distance from VIP culture and administrative show-off. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of energy conservation and responsible use of resources, Minister Verma has decided to discontinue ‘Pilot’ and ‘Follow’ vehicles used in his official tours with immediate effect.
Now Minister Verma will travel with his staff only in a convoy of limited number of vehicles. His decision is being considered as a positive initiative towards simplicity, accountability and better utilization of resources in the state.
