Chhattisgarh PWD Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal emphasized on the quality of construction works, transparent tender process and technical efficiency in the departmental review meeting. He gave instructions to adopt digitization, geo-informatics technology and time bound work system.
Raipur. Chhattisgarh Public Works Department Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal held a meeting of senior officials today and conducted a detailed review of the departmental work. In this meeting held at ‘Nirman Bhawan’, PWD headquarters in Nava Raipur, he gave instructions to give top priority to public interest, quality and technical efficiency in construction works.
He said that all the construction works going on across the state should be completed within the time limit and with high quality. For this, modern technology, digitalization and new software based systems should be used more so that both the speed and efficiency of work can be increased.
Emphasis on transparency and timeliness in tender process
During the meeting, the departmental secretary directed to complete all the tender processes with complete transparency and within the stipulated time limit. He clearly said that ensuring both quality and speed in the construction works is the biggest responsibility of the department and any kind of negligence will not be accepted in this. He instructed the officials that regular monitoring of construction works should be done and special attention should be given to technical standards and public interest in every project.
Construction works will be monitored through geo-informatics technology
Officials informed in the meeting that the department is making the monitoring, mapping and project management of construction works more effective by using modern geo-informatics technology. The officials also informed the Secretary about work allocation under the tender process, billing process of construction works and payment system. He said that monitoring and transparency of works is being further strengthened through technology.
Review of progress of construction works and upcoming projects
In the meeting, the ongoing construction works across the state, the status of the tender process and preparations for upcoming projects were discussed in detail. The Secretary of the Public Works Department, while reviewing the work performance of the officers and contractors, took information about various technical processes and timely arrangements for payment. He also asked questions on quality control in construction works and the functioning of contractors. Along with this, Shri Bansal also took information about the progress of the Kachna Railway Overbridge project being built in Raipur and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
