Drone sprayer service started in 5 cooperative societies of Balodabazar-Bhatapara. With this, farmers will get the benefit of low cost, less time spraying and modern scientific farming.
Raipur. Balodabazar-Bhatapara district has achieved an important achievement in the direction of promoting modern technology in the agricultural sector and connecting farmers with scientific farming. Drone sprayer service has now been officially started in the five primary agricultural credit cooperative societies of the district.
This ambitious initiative was launched by Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma with prayers during a program organized in the new agricultural produce market complex. This new facility will help farmers to spray fertilizers and pesticides in more area in less time.
Drone Demo: Drone demonstrated accurate spraying amidst rain
During the event, trained drone pilots successfully demonstrated the drone sprayer amidst light rain. It was told in the demo that accurate spraying of fertilizers and pesticides can be done through drones. This will save time, reduce labor, reduce costs and farm management will be more effective than before.

Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma said that this day will be remembered as an important achievement in the agricultural history of the district. He said that with drone technology, it would be possible to spray large areas in less time, which would ensure balanced use of chemicals. He said that this will reduce both the hard work and expenses of the farmers. There will be no need to go to the fields again and again, which will reduce the possibility of damage to crops. The Minister said that schemes like ‘Drone Didi’ will provide technical training to rural women and youth along with new employment and livelihood opportunities.
Natural Farming: Appeal to farmers to adopt organic and natural farming
In the program, Minister Tank Ram Verma expressed concern over the increasing ill effects of chemical farming. Appealing to the farmers to adopt organic and natural farming, he said that our traditional farming methods are the strong foundation of sustainable farming. He said that through organic farming, soil fertility remains for a long time and the quality of agricultural products also improves.
Drone sprayer facility will be available in these 5 cooperative societies
At present, a total of 11 drones have been made available in the primary agricultural credit cooperative societies located in Balodabazar, Kasdol, Baya, Girra (Palari) and Damakheda (Simga) of the district. The Cooperative Department has set a target of spraying fertilizers and pesticides in about 50 thousand acres of agricultural land through drones in the current year.
Farmers will get drone service like this
To avail the benefit of drone facility, farmers will have to go to their respective cooperative society and register the date of spraying and area of the field and get the slip cut. On the scheduled date, the trained drone pilot will reach the farmer’s field with the machine. The farmer will have to provide only fertilizer or pesticide. A fixed fee per acre will be charged for drone service.
Cooperative Society Update: All societies become mini banks, micro ATM facility started
In the program, the Collector told that all the cooperative societies of the district have now been completely computerized. These societies are now also functioning as Common Service Centers (CSC) and Mini Banks. Due to availability of micro ATM facility here, farmers will not have to visit big banks to withdraw small amount.
Those who did excellent work in paddy procurement honored
In the Kharif marketing year 2025-26, 17 committee managers who performed excellently during paddy procurement and 10 employees who did better work in e-PACS were honored with certificates. Apart from this, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) checks were also distributed to 9 farmers and learning licenses to 2 farmers in the programme. Municipal President, former MLA Pramod Sharma, District Panchayat Vice President, District Panchayat members, District Cooperative Bank President, senior officers of the Cooperative Department and a large number of farmers were present in the program.
