Cooperative Week concluded in Raipur on completion of 5 years of Cooperative Ministry. District Cooperative Bank recorded a profit of Rs 216 crore, while Minister Kedar Kashyap stressed on quality-based farming.

Raipur. The grand finale of the ‘Cooperative Week’ organized on the occasion of completion of five successful years of the Ministry of Cooperatives established by the Government of India was held at the District Cooperative Central Bank, Raipur campus. Chhattisgarh’s Cooperation and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap participated in the program as the chief guest. The function started with garlanding and lighting of lamp on the oil painting of the bank’s founder Pandit Vaman Baliram Lakhe. On this occasion, the statue of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahtari’ was also formally unveiled in the bank premises.

Live telecast of Amit Shah’s address, achievements of cooperative sector counted

During the program, the address of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah was telecast live through YouTube. In his speech he mentioned the major changes that have taken place in the cooperative sector. He informed that 50 thousand PACS are being converted into e-PACS across the country. Apart from this, important initiatives like establishment of Tribhuvan Cooperative University, world’s largest grain storage chain, connecting cooperative societies with Common Service Center (CSC) and Bharat Taxi Service are giving new direction to the cooperative sector.

Raipur District Cooperative Bank recorded historic profit of Rs 216 crore

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank, Mrs. Apeksha Vyas, while presenting the progress report, said that till March 31, 2026, the bank has earned a historical gross profit of Rs 216 crore. Giving information about various schemes and services of the bank, he said that new facilities are being provided continuously under the ‘Sahakar Se Samridhi’ scheme of the Central Government.

Major achievements of the Bank under Sahakar Se Samriddhi Scheme

  • The Bank has started micro ATM facility in its 682 cooperative societies and 98 dairy societies, thereby facilitating banking services in rural areas.
  • Common Service Centers (CSC) are being operated through committees, where 32 essential services are being provided to the citizens.
  • Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being operated in 12 primary cooperative societies of the state, so that people can get affordable medicines.
  • LPG gas is being distributed under the Ujjwala scheme through 10 cooperative societies in remote areas.
  • Apart from this, computerization of PACS has been completed and 132 new cooperative societies have also been formed.

Kedar Kashyap said – Farmers should adopt quality based farming, not quantity.

Addressing the program, Cooperation and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap congratulated all the participants for the successful event. He said that about 1300 new cooperative societies including PACS, dairy and fisheries have been formed in the state.

He appealed to the farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilizers and adopt organic and natural farming. He said that farmers should now focus on “quality farming, not quantity”, so that both income and quality can be improved along with production.

Emphasis given on making farmers debt free

State General Secretary of Sahakar Bharti, Mr. Kaniram said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Cooperation was established in the year 2021, which has given new strength to the cooperative movement in the entire country. He said that everyone should work together to create such an environment that farmers do not need to take loans in future. On this occasion, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank, Shri Kedar Nath Gupta also emphasized on promoting transparency, technological improvements and agricultural innovation in the cooperative sector.

The program was presided over by Shri Niranjan Sinha, President of District Cooperative Central Bank Raipur. Vice President Shri Abhinesh Kashyap presented the vote of thanks. President of District Cooperative Bank Durg Mr. Preetpal Belchandan, President of Rajnandgaon Mr. Sachin Baghel, State President of Cooperative Cell Mr. Praveen Dubey, President of District Panchayat Raipur Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Yadu, Joint Commissioner of Cooperative Department Mrs. Kiran Gupta, Managing Director of Apex Bank Mr. K.N. A large number of officers, public representatives and employees of cooperative organizations including Kande were present. The program was conducted by Mrs. Anuradha Shukla, while the vote of thanks was given by senior officer of the bank, Mr. S.P. Chandrakar did it.
