This visit of officers, crossing difficult roads on motorcycles, was not limited to mere inspection, but also became a step to strengthen the trust of the villagers in the administration. Villagers said that seeing a collector in their village for the first time after independence made them realize that now development is actually reaching their doorstep.

‘Good Governance Complex’ model appreciated in Sukma’s Burkalanka

During the visit, the officials inspected the “Good Governance Complex” under construction in Burkalanka village. Collector Shri Amit Kumar praised this model being developed amidst dense forests and called it an inspiring initiative. In this multipurpose complex, facilities like school, Anganwadi centre, Panchayat building, PDS center and community hall are being developed within a single complex. Its objective is to provide all the necessary services to the villagers at one place.

During the Good Governance Camp, officials in Mailasur Panchayat sat on the ground and discussed with the villagers, Sarpanch, Patel and other public representatives. During this, information was taken about the ground situation of government schemes and instructions were given to complete the incomplete construction works within the time limit.

Emphasis on strengthening health services and education system

The administration made several important announcements to improve health and education facilities in villages. The Collector gave administrative approval for the Sub Health Center in Bhejji Panchayat, while instructions were given to identify land for it in Mylasur. Approval was given to build staff quarters for health workers in Gachanapalli, so that the villagers can get medical facilities all the time. At the same time, strict instructions were given to the education department to complete the primary school building under construction in Danteshpuram before the rains. Along with this, the administration also adopted a strict stance to ensure regular attendance of teachers in schools in interior areas.

New initiative for drinking water, fisheries and agriculture development

The administration approved several schemes with the aim of increasing the livelihood of villagers and making villages self-reliant. On the demand of villagers in Mylasur and Danteshpuram, ponds were identified to promote fish farming and instructions were given to provide fish seeds. To solve the water problem in Danteshpuram, approval was given for construction of new dam and pond. Apart from this, instructions were also given to the CREDA department to build a water tank.

New hand pumps and borings were approved to end the drinking water crisis in Malasur and Bodrajpadar. Instructions were given to the PHE department that in the villages where Jal Jeevan Mission work has been completed, water supply should be started as soon as possible and where the work is incomplete, the construction should be completed expeditiously.

Preparation to connect villages with main roads under PMGSY

The administration has also taken a big decision to increase road connectivity in these remote villages of Sukma district. The Collector directed the officials to prepare proposals and take immediate action under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to connect Bodrajpadar, Mylasur, Danteshpuram, Gachanpalli and Burkalanka with main roads. Apart from this, the Ashram under construction in Dabbakonta was also inspected by the RES Department.

Collector Shri Amit Kumar said that it is the priority of the administration to provide development to the last villages which have come out of Naxal influence. He said that before the rains, all the construction works related to schools, hospitals, roads, bridges and Jal Jeevan Mission will be completed on time with quality, so that the villagers can get direct benefits of the schemes.
