Under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme, farmer Tiharuram of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh got a subsidy of Rs 4 lakh. The keys of the tractor were handed over in the Good Governance Camp.

Raipur. The role of agricultural machinery is continuously increasing in making farming modern and more profitable. In this direction, the agricultural mechanization scheme of the state government is proving to be a big relief for small and medium farmers. The positive impact of this scheme was also seen in the life of progressive farmer Tiharuram Chandra of village Gadhabhata of Bilaigarh development block, whose years-old dream of buying his own tractor has now been fulfilled.

Tractor found in good governance camp, government subsidy of Rs 4 lakh became support

During the good governance camp organized in village Jhumka, Minister in-charge Tankaram Verma handed over the keys of the new tractor to farmer Tiharuram Chandra and congratulated him. A grant of Rs 4 lakh was provided by the state government on the purchase of a tractor costing about Rs 9.40 lakh. Due to getting government assistance, the financial burden of the farmer reduced considerably and he could easily buy his tractor.

Earlier farmers were dependent on rented tractors, now farming will be done on time

Tiharuram Chandra told that due to less land and limited resources, he had to take a tractor on rent every time for farming. Many times, farming work was also affected due to non-availability of tractors on time. He said that the subsidy of Rs 4 lakh received under the agricultural mechanization scheme of the government has fulfilled his dream. Now they will be able to do farming on time, increase production and make farming more modern and profitable.

Farmers’ problems solved on the spot through one stop center

The Agriculture Department set up special stalls as one stop centers in the camps organized under Good Governance Tihar. Here, along with quick solution to the problems of farmers and villagers, the benefits of various government schemes were also delivered directly to the eligible beneficiaries. During the camp, the Agriculture Department received a total of 575 applications. Of these, 545 applications were demand related and 30 applications were complaint related. The department took prompt action and resolved 572 applications, which included 544 demand related applications and 28 complaint related applications. This initiative set an example of good governance and effective administration.

Agricultural materials and equipment given to farmers to promote improved farming

Many useful agricultural materials were also distributed in the camp to the farmers to adopt modern and scientific farming. These included neem based pesticides, green manure, certified seeds and various small agricultural equipment. Its objective is to reduce the cost of farming and increase production by connecting farmers with modern technology.

Information given about schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Crop Insurance and Agri Stack

The team of Deputy Director Agriculture, Senior Agricultural Development Officers and Rural Agricultural Development Officers organized Chaupal with the farmers and shared detailed information about various schemes of the Central and State Government. The major schemes about which farmers were given information include-

Successful campaign launched in the direction of farmer welfare in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh

This campaign run by the Agriculture Department in district Sarangarh-Bilaigarh was not limited to just resolving the complaints, but also became an effective medium to connect the farmers with modern agricultural techniques, government schemes and agricultural mechanization.
